Difference between the American Ugg Australia ones and the Australian UGGS-N-RUGS and Binder Production brands

You will note two major differences between them - the US Ugg Australia ones are not necessarily made in Australia (A representative of them has informed us (12 Dec 2003) that none of the Ugg Australia styles of footwear is made in Australia now. A portion is made in New Zealand and most is made in China) and they are significantly dearer. (Note: It is likely though that manufacturing sources will change as new contracts come and go.)

UGGS-N-RUGS - a long-term brand of Australian sheepskin boots and slippers (over 25 years) - are genuinely made in Western Australia out of top quality materials and are priced much more reasonably. The prices that UGGS-N-RUGS sheepskin boots sell for are comparable to other Australian manufactured comparable sheepskin boots. (Yes - there are many manufacturers in Australia but there are not many left who have been around as long as UGGS-N-RUGS. Their longevity is due to the quality product they have been producing.)

Binder Productions - Are another long-term Australian manufacturer of genuine sheepskin boots and slippers. Quality materials are also used and prices are very reasonable.

UGG Holdings, Inc. (who trade using the label Ugg Australia) is a subsidiary or trading entity of big US company Deckers Outdoor Corporation. They purchased the Ugg Australia business around the mid-1990's. They are US based and market largely to the US market.

UGGS-N-RUGS began in the late 1970's when the ugg boot was again taking Australia by storm. They are a small family run business who have been eking out a living manufacturing and retailing sheepskin ugg boots (generic name for sheepskin footwear in Australia) since then. Since their very first year in business, they have sold their product all over the world.

Binder Productions are a Melbourne manufacturing business who have been producing for over a decade. They offer an excellent product too with a range of trendy sheepskin footwear styles.
